Organizational structure

Director’s Office Department

  • ensures the administrative operations of the Authority;
  • manages the Authority's financial, accounting and public procurement agenda;
  • deals with complaints from individuals and legal entities about steps taken by the staff of the Rail Authority and its administrative procedures;
  • conducts complex proceedings involving the Rail Authority;
  • handles matters relating to the Labour Code and to the Civil Service Act;
  • draws up the internal and service regulations of the Rail Authority in cooperation with specialist departments;
  • deals with tasks relating to health and safety at work.

Operations Section

  • issues the authorisation for the placing in service of fixed installations;
  • decides on names of stations/stops or their changes;
  • maintains a register of infrastructure;
  • issues the annual safety report;
  • conducts proceedings to change the railway line category;
  • maintains the agenda of administrative infractions committed by individuals in respect of railways and other guided transport systems as per the Railways Act;
  • decides on halts and restrictions of rail service;
  • exercises state supervision over railways and other guided transport systems as per the Railways Act;
  • decides on removing a source of threat from the track or line;
  • decides on the extent and type of safety elements used at level crossings and on their change;
  • maintains the agenda of requests for information pursuant to the Act Regulating Free Access to Information (Act No. 106/1999 Coll.) regarding matters within the scope of its competence;
  • maintains the agenda of administrative infractions regarding matters within the scope of its competence.
